This one is SO common: you want to use a slideshop.com shape or a slide in your own presentation. If you just copy-paste like most people will do, the colors will change to the "theme colors". You can avoid this with one click: When you copy a shape into another presentation using ctrl c+v, a little scrapbook icon will appear in lower right corner. Click that one and select "Keep Source Formatting" (see video below).
